We are agreeing. There is the need for a member (whether the name is tm_zone or tm_adj as it is in HP's implementation) in the tm structure which gives the difference between GMT and localtime in seconds. This applies specifically to the time value in the tm structure. Sorry about any confusion. Ron Tolley
