Regarding time settings in the state of Indiana, I do not know about the stories in the email to which I am now responding. Nevertheless, I grew up in Indianapolis, and I do remember that the first week or so of first grade was spent with the schools on one time-of-day and everyone's homes on a time-o-day that differed by an hour.
