The state of Western Australia is planning to adopt daylight saving time on a trial basis till 31 March 2009. This has not yet been passed by parliament but is supported by both major parties. The initial period is 2am 1 December 2006 to 2am 25 March 2007. Subsequent periods are 2am on last Sunday in October till 2am on last Sunday in March.
