Subject: [PROPOSED 2/3] Convert CONTRIBUTING back to plain text
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

* CONTRIBUTING: Convert Markdown elements like `x` and [y](z)
back to their plain-text counterparts 'x' and y <z>.
When Markdown looks fine in text, though, leave it alone,
in case someone wants to run this file through ‘pandoc -f markdown’.

To email small changes, please run a POSIX shell command like
-`diff -u old/europe new/europe >myfix.patch`, and attach

such as renaming, adding or removing zones, please read

-It is also good to browse the [mailing list

-citing reliable sources as justification. Citations should use

 ## Sample Git workflow for developing contributions

@@ -37,53 +37,53 @@ If you use Git the following workflow may be helpful:

   * Copy the development repository.

- git clone https://github.com/eggert/tz.git

   * Get current with the main branch.

- git checkout main

+ git checkout main

   * Switch to a new branch for the changes. Choose a different

- * Sleuth by using `git blame`. For example, when fixing data for
