We would prefer, for testing purposes, that there be at least one TZ identifier for every ISO country code, even uninhabited rocks like BV. However, that principle doesn't extend to the reserved codes, which have no UN M.49 numeric code (the basis for the ISO codes), and in many cases are reserved only by historical accident -- it doesn't mean that they will ever be used as country codes. Cf. http://unstats.un.org/unsd/methods/m49/m49alpha.htm

Note that Serbia and Montenegro have also been given separate UN codes since their recent split; ISO lags, however, in assigning them alphabetic codes, so it is unclear how long it will be until they are assigned.

Hi,

as you can see here
http://www.iso.org/iso/en/prods-services/iso3166ma/02iso-3166-code-
lists/list-en1.html
the next countries have been included in the ISO 3166 list:

BOUVET ISLAND:BV
GUERNSEY:GG
HEARD ISLAND AND MCDONALD ISLANDS:HM
ISLE OF MAN:IM
JERSEY:JE

So you should indlude them in your list too.

I think that you also should have to present the next information about
new territories in the ISO list:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1_alpha-
2#Exceptional_reservations

It have been reserved the ISO code for the next countries:

ASCENSION ISLAND:AC
CLIPPERTON ISLAND:CP
DIEGO GARCIA:DG
CEUTA AND MELILLA:EA
CANARY ISLANDS:IC
TRISTAN DA CUNHA:TA

Greetings!
