The 2012j release of the tz code and data is available. It reflects the following changes recently circulated on the tz mailing list: Libya moved to CET this weekend, but with DST planned next year. (Thanks to Even Scharning, Steffen Thorsen, and Tim Parenti.) Signatures now have the extension .asc, not .sign, as that's more standard. (Thanks to Phil Pennock.) The output of 'zdump --version', and of 'zic --version', now uses a format that is more typical for --version. (Thanks to Joseph S. Myers.) The output of 'tzselect --help', 'zdump --help', and 'zic --help' now uses tz@iana.org rather than the old elsie address. zic -v now complains about abbreviations that are less than 3 or more than 6 characters, as per Posix. Formerly, it checked for abbreviations that were more than 3. 'make public' no longer puts its temporary directory under /tmp, and uses the just-built zic rather than the system zic. Various fixes to documentation and commentary. For this release I did not find the time to carefully review Joseph S. Myers's suggestion about BUGEMAIL in <http://mm.icann.org/pipermail/tz/2012-November/018452.html>. At first glance the suggestion seems like a good one, and I'd like to put it into the next release.
