Re: [technology taskforce] Technology Issue : Ensuring information about ALSes on ICANN At-Large website are consistent (SOLVED)
Dear All, just to note that the fixes by ICANN IT was deployed in the beginning of August 2018 and the fix works. After some further updates from At-Large Staff to enter the missing information from a few ALSes (some ALSes had no location within the RALO), the ICANN Stakeholder Tool can now retrieve ALS information directly from the At-Large website, ensuring that the Stakeholder Tool will always be up to date. You can visit the Stakeholder Tool at https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/ICANN+Stakeholder+Analysis+Tool Thanks to ICANN IT staff (Corinna Ace, Mark) for implementing the fix and to Evin from Staff for researching and plugging in the missing At-Large information. I've updated the https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/At-Large+Technology+Issues to fully document the fix Dev Anand On Thu, Feb 8, 2018 at 7:38 AM Alfredo Calderon <calderon.alfredo@gmail.com> wrote:
Dev,
You make excellent points. My guess is that ICANN Staff with the help of At-Large constituents must update information according to the requirements that each Organization/group should meet when affiliated to a RALO.
I also agree that this "has to be" part of the Data Initiative that ICANN seeks to facilitate finding resources and encouraging more volunteers to get involved in ICANN.

Hello All
I've been working on an ICANN Stakeholder Tool
https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/ICANN+Stakeholder+Analysis+Tool
which allows for the ability to search by country: At-Large Representation, ccNSO membership GAC Membership, Fellowships, Accredited Registrars and also do an regional or worldwide analysis on stakeholders
However, whilst information on ICANN website relating to registrars and the ccNSO are consistent, allowing the Tool to use "live data" from ICANN's website thereby requiring no manual updating from the Stakeholder Tool, the same can't be said for At-Large's website where ALSes in the 5 RALOs are listed.
This is because the ICANN At-Large website uses inconsistent HTML when displaying the ALSes in the region. When there are gaps in the ALS information (no wiki page, no ALS website), the HTML is different.
I've tried to expand on this in a Google doc at
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1w41fd3dghw7nqrFEBdZLTglwtPWe5KsydZB3O5vk...
in an attempt to explain this in greater detail and would appreciate thoughts, comments on this if what I'm saying is understood properly. If so, then this can be added to the Technology Issues page for raising with ICANN IT staff.

Dev, Great tool, and very informative. Keep up the good and important work! I do note that the GAC information pull does not seem to be working, i.e., GAC is listed as "NO" for each country I checked (Argentina, Switzerland and United States of America). This is clearly not the case, and the page from which the info is being pulled does list each of those countries. Hi, Greg, thanks for the feedback. I've checked the tool and the GAC info does appear to work. Perhaps reload the spreadsheet ? Dev Anand On Fri, Sep 14, 2018 at 12:48 AM Greg Shatan <greg@isoc-ny.org> wrote:
