Update on new mail translation engine testing to replace LACRALO mailing list translation
As one of the chairs of the TTF, I had a Skype conference call with Josh Jenkins from ICANN and Silvia Vivanco from ICANN At-Large Staff on 30 January 2015 to discuss the next steps in the development and testing of the new translation engine that would replace the translation on the LACRALO mailing lists. Whilst Silvia and myself agreed that the new translation engine is better than the current LACRALO one, there are some showstopper issues that needs resolving before the new translation engine is deployed. The aim is for the new translation engine to be deployed to the LACRALO lists before the F2F meeting in Argentina once showstopper issues are resolved. Bug/Observation reports are being collected at https://community.icann.org/display/LACRALO/discussion-of-LACRALO-mailing-li... One outcome from the call that Josh Jenkins has already implemented is that the new transbot-en and new-transbot-es archives are now public: http://mm.icann.org/pipermail/new-transbot-en/ http://mm.icann.org/pipermail/new-transbot-es/ This will allow for easier comparison of emails and to link to particular emails when identifying and reporting bugs on the wiki page for all to read. It would also aid in demoing the translation tool in future Technology Taskforce and LACRALO calls. Kind Regards, Dev Anand Teelucksingh Technology Taskforce chair
