Dear Peter,

On 11 December 2008, the Board of Directors requested a report on the involvement of users in the GNSO, initially to be delivered by 24 January 2009, later extended to 20 February 2009.

As per the Board request, the GNSO and ALAC facilitated the convening of a working group with participants from the ALAC/At-Large, GNSO and forming constituency communities. As the ALAC Liaison to the GNSO, I am pleased to deliver this report on behalf of the working group.

My understanding is that the Chairs of both the ALAC and the GNSO will request that their respective groups ratify this report before or during the Mexico City meeting.

Although a number of the participants entered into this working group with some trepidation, it functioned remarkably well, all the more so given the tight timeline.
