They survey was funded by ICANN, the International Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, which oversees the domain name system (DNS). We have designed it to get a range of feedback from Internet users and people in the ICANN community to help us, in turn, provide insight for our own policy work in North America, and to assist policy development in ICANN.
