Please note the revisions in red regarding the NomCom Delegate.

On behalf of Alan Greenberg, Chair of the ALAC, we would like to announce that the 2018 call for nominations is now open for positions to be filled as ALAC Members, RALO Leaders and ALAC Delegates to the NomCom.

Positions Open:

Please refer to the 2018 ALAC and RALO Elections, Selections and Appointments Workspace for a comprehensive list of all available positions and whether current holders of the positions are eligible for re-selection.

Terms:

• ALAC: Terms for the ALAC will run from the end of the 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) to the end of the 2020 AGM.
• RALO Leadership: Terms for the RALO Leadership will be as noted on the individual RALO election pages. All terms will start at the end of the 2018 AGM.
• ALAC Delegates to the NomCom: Voting members of the NomCom are appointed for a one year term, starting at the close of the 2018 AGM and ending at the close of the 2019 AGM and may be re-appointed for a further term of one year subject to the requirement under the ICANN Bylaws. Each RALO may make one or more recommendations for the consideration of the ALAC. The criteria for NomCom Delegates are shown at the end of this message.

Selection Schedule for ALAC Members, RALO Leadership, and ALAC Delegates to the NomCom:

• 23 April 2018 -  Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement.
• 23 April – 4 May 2018 - Nomination period.
• 11 May 2018 - Deadline for nomination acceptances.
• 14 May – 17 May - Calls with the candidates if desired by the RALOs. 18 May - 24 May 2018 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline).
• 2018 AGM [ ICANN 63] - Newly elected ALAC Members and RALOs Leaders shall be seated at the end of the 2018 AGM following the close of the Board Meeting on 25 October 2018.

 Process for Nominations:

All nominees are expected to submit a brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate to At-Large staff.  All nominees must also complete or update their Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace).

Nominations, including self-nominations must be made directly to their RALO’s mailing list, as well as posted to the 2018 ALAC and RALO Elections, Selections and Appointments Workspace or by sending a note to At-Large staff.

Criteria for NomCom Delegates:

The NomCom is responsible for selecting members of the ICANN Board, ALAC, ccNSO and GNSO. This is a very important function and all candidates should meet important criteria.

• Familiarity with the ICANN groups to which the NomCom appoints (Board, ALAC, GNSO, ccNSO).
• Ability to judge people (such as when interviewing and hiring).
• Comfortable and preferably fluent with English (listening, reading, speaking).
• Good on-line skills such as on Google & Social media.
• Time Commitment - Must be willing to devote substantial time under tight deadlines (March-June). Will involve travel to up to 4 meetings.
• Ability work in a group environment, standing up for what you believe in a discussion with other "strong" people, but at the same time, must be a good listener and be willing to change your mind if someone else has a good argument. Diplomacy is important.

Chaque RALO peut faire une ou plusieurs recommandations à l’attention de l’ALAC. Les critères pour les délégués NomCom sont indiqués à la fin de ce message.

Calendrier de la S élection pour les dirigeants des RALO, les Membres de l'ALAC et les délégués de l’ALAC au NomCom:

• 23 avril 2018 - Annonce de l’appel à candidatures et la déclaration du candidat
• 23 avril au 4 mai 2018: Période de nomination
• 11 mai 2018 - Date limite pour les acceptations de candidatures
• 14 mai au 17 mai 2018 – Appels avec les candidats si les RALO le désirent.
• 18 mai au 24 mai 2018: Elections - (si nécessaires, les élections commenceront au plus tard une semaine après la date limite d’acceptation des candidatures et se termineront au plus tard deux semaines après ce délais).
• 2018 AGA [ICANN 63] - Les représentants nouvellement élus prendront place à la fin de l’assemblée générale 2018, suite à la clôture de la réunion du Conseil des Membres du Board le 25 octobre 2018.

Processus de Nominations:

Tous les candidats doivent soumettre une déclaration brève au personnel At-Large (staff@atlarge.icann.org) qui explique pourquoi ils pensent être un candidat approprié. Tous les candidats doivent également remplir ou mettre à jour leur déclaration d’intérêt (voir: At-Large New SOIs Workspace)

• 23  Abril del 2018 -  Anuncio de convocatoria a nominaciones y declaraciones de los nominados.
• 23 Abril – 4 Mayo 2018 – Periodo de Nominaciones.
• 11 Mayo 2018 -  Fecha límite de aceptación de Nominaciones.
• 14 Mayo – 17 Mayo – Teleconferencias con los candidatos, si se desea, por los RALOs.
• 18 Mayo - 24 Mayo 2018 – Elecciones (Si es que fueran necesarias, las elecciones empezaran a más tardar una semana después de la fecha límite para aceptación de nominaciones y finalizar a más tardar dos semanas después de dicha fecha límite.)
• AGM 2018 [ ICANN 63 ] – Los miembros elegidos del ALAC y de los líderes de los RALOs tomaran sus posiciones al final del AGM 2018 después de la finalización de la reunión del Directorio de ICANN, el 25 de Octubre del 2018.

Proceso para Nominaciones:
