Algunos países de nuestra región demuestran que es posible cambiar esta realidad: Argentina; Bolivia; Guatemala; Panamá, Trinidad Tobago, entre otros tienen más de 50% de mujeres preparadas en las áreas de ciencia y tecnología! En ICANN la presencia de las mujeres, aún no es lo que esperamos, pero es más relevante si se compara con otras Juntas directivas en el mundo: pasamos de tener 5 mujeres en la Junta a tener 7 en estos momentos. En LACRALO en particular la presencia de las mujeres fue, desde el principio, muy fuerte. Están en la mayoría de las ALS, como también en posiciones de liderazgo.
