El objetivo de esta comunicación es el de invitarlos a participar de una
sesión virtual (vía webex) destinada a actualizar las últimas novedades
relacionadas con el agotamiento inminente del pool de direcciones IPv4
de LACNIC. Al mismo tiempo, será una opotunidad para conversar
abiertamente con nuestra amplia comunidad sobre el estado actual y
recomendaciones para una transición a IPv6 de manera estable, segura y
definitiva.
El evento se realizará el Día Viernes, 4 de Abril a las 19hs UTC, 16hs

developments related to the impending exhaustion of LACNIC's IPv4
address pool. These session will also provide an opportunity to openly
discuss recommendations for a stable, safe and final transition to IPv6

He sido uno de los campeones de la representación de ALAC a la Junta Directiva con derecho a voto, a la par con las otras organizaciones de apoyo.
Así que creo que no puedo ser sospechoso de anti-ALAC-ismo si yo ahora, años después, sostengo que para luchar por más Consejeros en el Consejo es una batalla del pasado, que no tiene mucho sentido mirar la evolución de la organizazion y a una plena realización del modelo de múltiples partes interesadas.
El modelo de múltiples partes interesadas no es un modelo parlamentario donde el interesado obtendrá representación en función de su "fuerza" relativa. El régimen parlamentario está bien para una organización en su infancia, donde la constitución tiene que ser redactado. En una organización madura, con las leyes y comportamientos básicos ya definidos, la designación de representantes por circunscripciones trae inevitablemente a la Junta de los mezquinos intereses de los diferentes grupos en lugar de tener una especie de consejo de los ancianos que hace abstracción de los intereses contingentes que buscan el bien común.
Esta ha sido la pauta que se intentó con la revisión de la GNSO, aunque con sólo parcial, aunque significativas, resultados.
Es el momento de proponer un modelo diferente para la Junta, así, deshacerse lo más posible del sistema por el cual tenemos representante de "partes" que a menudo tienen intereses en conflicto.
Creo que debemos ir hacia la reducción de los Directores SO equipadas, y tienen lugar una parte mayor, posiblemente un súper-mayoría, designado por Comité de nominaciones. El Comité de Nominaciones también debe obtener una descripción precisa del conjunto de habilidades que falta para ese año en particular, para que puedan elegir los nombres en consecuencia.
